New on DVD, Blu-ray, and Netflix Instant: June 1st, 2010
A good week all-around. Solid new releases, solid re-releases, solid Netflix Instant lineup, and even a solid DTV slate.
New this Week:
Alice In Wonderland – (DVD and Blu-ray)
Due to crazy ticket price inflation (you could buy a couple Blu-rays with what it costs for a family of four to see a movie nowadays), this is one of the six-highest grossing movies ever worldwide. I haven’t seen it yet, so I’m not going to deride it here. I did time my Netflix mailing to get it this week though, so I’m not going to say I’m not curious to see it.

Classics and Re-Releases:
War of the Worlds – (Blu-ray)
The ending may be a bit much, and Tom Cruise singing is painful but it’s still a very good movie.

Clint Eastwood Releases:
A huge number of Clint Eastwood movies see their Blu-ray release this week, take a look…
Absolute Power – (Blu-ray)
Wait, so nobody likes this movie? I loved it when I first saw it a few months ago and then I checked it out to see it only had a 48% on Rotten Tomatoes and only wins 18% of the time on Flickchart. I guess Clint just has a power over me.
