Megan Fox Returns to Michael Bay for ‘TMNT’ Reboot
They may have had a very public falling out prior to the filming of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but it appears that Michael Bay and Megan Fox have learned how to make up. Bay has announced on his blog that Fox will star in his upcoming live-action/CGI reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Fox was summarily dismissed from the Transformers threequel when she compared Bay to Hitler and called him “a nightmare to work for”. A subsequent war of words over the Internet led to her getting fired from Bay’s hit franchise.
Though they seem to have mended their working-relationship fences, this doesn’t necessarily mean things bode well for the TMNT franchise. Bay is producing the reboot for his Platinum Dunes production company and Paramount, and it will be directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans), but true Turtles fans have been nervous ever since it was revealed on the Internet that our Heroes in the Half Shell might instead be aliens from another planet. (The current synopsis on IMDb suggests that they will in fact be mutated reptiles, their transformation triggered by an alien invasion. Bay maintains they wish to remain true to the characters. Fingers crossed?)
Fox’s role in the film is currently unspecified, though it seems likely she could portray human reporter April O’Neil.
The movie’s title is currently abbreviated Ninja Turtles, and it is slated for release on May 16, 2014.
