  2. I can see the money justification – maybe… but artistically this just doesn’t make sense to me. A revisionist version of this story is just odd to me. Let the original stand in all it’s uncomfortable but accurate to the era it was made racism. Tell new stories about the antebellum south. We actually really need an honest accounting of the creation of the Confederacy that really addresses it’s reasons for existing and gets rid of these dangerous notions about vague political issues like states rights or regional honor.
