"Not. Even. Close. While I don't think Iron Man is horrible by any means, it just didn't impress. There's little to no plot for the first, I dunno, 90 minutes, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if the rest (performances, action, entertainment, direction, etc.) compensates for that. That sadly isn't the case here. Is it entertaining? Not really. I mean, how many times do we see Iron Man kick some ass? Two, maybe three times? The action, of which there is little, isn't even all that exciting. Iron Man just shoots a bunch of rockets and poof, done. No threats, no risks, he knows exactly what to do. Lame. Even the villain is underwhelming. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love Jeff Bridges, but even for a Comic Book Movie villain he had the flimsiest-ass motivations I've ever seen. Again, Iron Man isn't terrible, it's just kind of "meh". It didn't make me angry and it didn't bore me, but neither did it entertain me or made me satisfied that I watched it. The Dark Knight is indeed still one of the best superhero movies ever made. It isn't perfect, but then again, what superhero movie is? "
