"Don't Make Waves and Being John Malkovich are both about a guys obsessed with a woman. They both engage in underhanded behavior to get their women. In Don't Make Waves, Tony Curtis falls under the spell of an empty-headed beach goddess played by Sharon Tate. John Cusack falls for Catherine Keener, who plays a shallow and manipulative woman most humorously. The way in which Cusack goes after Keener in Being John Malkovich is much more difficult to explain than with Curtis and Tate. Both movies are fairly absurd, however, and quite entertaining. I guess I didn't like the endings in either films as much as their build-up... Malkovich is probably better. Sharon Tate's bikini hotness has a lot to do with my enjoyment of it (and Claudia Cardinale is even in the movie). Malkovich delivers more bizarre and funny moments overall."
