Hulk vs. We Bought a Zoo

Skottula
on Monday had this to say:
"Even though I'm a fan of most things superhero comic and Marvel comic related and while I acknowledge that the cinematic techniques used by Ang Lee to bring Hulk to the screen, it was just way too much to jam into one movie. I feel that the movie is one to three good editors away from being an absolutely fantastic cinematic experience, but because someone in charge didn't know where to say no, you ended up with something tedious, like a much more brilliant Howard the Duck. We Bought A Zoo asks a lot of its viewers - mostly to suspend disbelief for about the first 45-55 minutes of the movie to set up the premise of the rest of the film, which is saying something when it's matched up against a movie telling the story a giant green goliath created by gamma radiation who fights similarly mutated giant dogs. In the end, even though some of the things We Bought A Zoo asks you to do are utterly irrational, if you put your faith in Cameron Crowe's ability to tell a fun, beautifully shot story, you end up with the much more enjoyable experience. I really wish I could rank Hulk higher, but it just didn't do anything for me. I don't hate it, I just definitely don't love it."
