Honestly, this film is ranked way too high on this site. Number 182? I do think it's a good film, it kickstarted the MCU, Downey Jr. is great, but it's not top 250 material. Cinema Paradiso, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises, Spirited Away, etc are all much better. The film suffers from bland lighting, a thin plot and a completely forgettable and disposable final battle. I'm not hating on the film, I just think they're much better films in and out of the MCU.
I think it's better than both rises and Interstellar simply because both of those movies suffer from some poor writing.

Iron Man might feature a mesmerizing performance by Robert Downey Jr. and kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but that doesn't entirely save it from a weak villain or falling apart by the third act.
