Sure, Freaks is definitely worth seeing. It's a very weird movie; it's only about an hour long and many of the scenes have very little to do with the actual plot of the film. But that's just part of what makes it so cool.

I seem to be working on the best movies I haven't seen list the most on this site. I have watched many that I had never heard of until I joined. Any in your list of shame you want to see?

Matt, anytime you want to ask me something about a movie, feel free to do so. :)

Nice to see Children Of Men and Dredd in your top 10, I saw both quite recently and was blown away, great movies.

Do you go to the movies much? Any movies you're looking forward to seeing in the near future? I'm excited for Star Trek: Into Darkness!

I agree with you regarding No Country's first viewing. So freaking thrilling. Nail-biting stuff. The ending was rather unexpected, but it somehow felt right.

Yeah, repeat viewings aren't as thrilling as the first, but then you get to understand the characters so much better. First viewing is all about anticipation -- predicting what's going to happen next (which is really enjoyable). But like I said, you can observe the finer details and underlying issues with a sharper eye when you're into the story.

So while my second viewing wasn't as edge-of-the-seat as the first, it still didn't stop the film from getting better.

I recommend this a lot! Have you seen Vampire's Kiss? It's Nicolas Cage at his craziest! Many people don't realize it's supposed to be a comedy, they just think it's bad. The whole movie is on YouTube, if you're interested. :) I love how badly he treats his employee. :D Hilarious! Oh, and Cage eats a cockroach........for real. :)

I agree completely with you on Dredd, great soundtrack, and it frustrates me that such a great movie didn't stand a chance of a sequel because they didn't get the revenue from it. Very unjust.

I don't think it's odd that you don't get to the cinema too often, you can still love films without seeing movies in a cinema environment, although I do enjoy movies on the big screen when they're big films like Avengers or The Dark Knight trilogy, or Star Trek 2 which I saw today.

I'm not a Trekkie by any means, but I loved J.J. Abrams re-boot of the franchise, the first movie is definitely worth a watch, see if you like it, you don't really have to have any prior Star Trek knowledge. if you like action movies you should get a kick out of it. It's funny too. :)

I saw the Lone Ranger trailer when I saw Iron Man 3, Johnny Depp looked quite funny in it, but he reminded me of Captain Jack Sparrow :D I didn't get much of a sense of what the film will be like from the trailer, might catch it when it comes to DVD though :)

I watched a lot of their shorts growing up. I really enjoyed them, more so than the rankings on my chart would indicate. I use the shorts on here as a buffer between the movies I really like and the ones I consider to be mediocre or bad. If I were to honestly rank the shorts with my other movies Laurel and Hardy would be much higher on my list. It's a bit of a convoluted system I use but it works for me.

Really? Well, I have done that a few times, like watching Aliens before Alien. But S. Darko loses so many elements I loved about Donnie Darko, and what it retains is pretty confusing if you haven't seen DD... if you do watch and dislike S. Darko, please don't hold that against DD.

****spoilers for Battleship***

What would you give it out of ten? Our percentage ratings are the same, but I think you liked it more than me. I hope it's passable for you. I always hope I'll love a movie, no matter what it is. Battleship missed the mark by a long way, for me.

I usually turn my brain off for these type of movies as well, but I watched it in the cinema! I paid money to see it. Battleship, for a big, dumb movie with explosions, was very boring to me. I actually nearly fell asleep watching it.

What did you think of 'give me five minutes......and I'll get you that chicken burrito'?

I didn't like Rihanna. She supposed to be a tough chick. See how you could tell? She had a smudge of dirt on her cheek, she's hardcore! Oh, she can midly say 'get up, soldier. :)

The soldier with atificial legs.......was ridiculous. How the hell could he fight an alien that's bigger and stronger than him in that condition! He's needed an aid for the first half of the movie. The fact that he landed a punch on the aliens just makes them stupid.
Run behind him! Easy done!

I couldn't believe it when I saw the old soldiers get a slo-mo walk! I laughed and laughed. Also, the fact the battleship was ready to fight after so many years, was absolutely ridiculous. I know I'm nitpicking quite a bit. But the movie annoyed me a lot, so I couldn't let anything go.

Have you seen John Carter with Taylor Kitsch? I'd watch that every time over Battleship.

I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Donnie Darko. I don't think you should think too much about the time travel plot, though it's essential to the movie's mystery. I liked DD much more for the interesting characters, dialogue, soundtrack, mood and setting. Anyway, according to Wikipedia, Donnie was supposed to die from the engine falling in his room. Since he didn't because he left his house, he entered an unstable alternate universe. If Donnie didn't kill himself within a few weeks, then both universes would be destroyed. If Donnie did commit suicide, only the alternate universe would collapse. A no-win situation from his perspective. I prefer to think of him wanting to prevent his girlfriend from getting killed, even though she won't remember him (might be going against the director's intention, but whatever). Oh, and my favorite song is "The Killing Moon" during the opening credits.

I rank the Pusher trilogy like this: 2, 1, 3.

All follow different characters. 2 was my favourite for Mads Mikkelsen. I'm sorry, I can't add too much about them because it's been about four years since I've seen them. They're worth a watch.

If you're interested, you could also watch the documentary, Gambler. It follows Winding Refn as he struggles to finance the first Pusher movie.

You know what else I'd love? Btw, your idea is a great one!!! You know when we click on the chart and take a look at Flickchart's top 100 films, there should be a indicator that says we've seen 70 of the top 100 instead of making us count it. You know how stupid it is, if you wanna look at their top 50 the indicator says how many films you've seen out of all that exist on their database!! It's so stupid, honestly! Another thing that would be great is if there was perhaps a chatroom. It could be interesting!

I love the original two Star Wars films and I'm not the biggest ROTJ fan. I enjoy it but those Ewoks piss me off so much! I hate the prequels but I'm glad you enjoy it for the sake of it being Star Wars!

Some people may have called Monster's University a return to classic Pixar, but to be honest, it just wasn't for me. I felt like it was too kiddy, and didn't include enough material for adults; something that Up, and especially Monster's Inc, excelled at. There were a few things I liked, the ending was fantastic, and the new character Don Carlton was really funny. I like to see Steve Buscemi in anything, so the inclusion of Randall was welcome. But everything else, uh. . . Not that great. The script, at least the first two acts, were very cliche, with very few moments that stuck out to me as witty or memorable. I haven't seen Brave, but I feel like I'm starting to lose faith in Pixar. Let's just hope that their new film about the mind will be good.

But I'm not saying that I don't recommend it, I still think that you should see it yourself to draw your own opinion. It just wasn't for me, but I can see how some people could get enjoyment out of it. It disappointed me, but it wasn't by any means one of the worst films I've seen all year. COUGHMANOFSTEELCOUGH

No offense taken. :) I really appreciate your true thoughts, it was awesome to read. :) I can see why you would feel that way about the movie.

I'm a fan, but I don't take the movie seriously like some people do, I don't consider it gospel.

Comercialisation is tough to fight sometimes, but I never feel emasculated by it.

I agree with you on the appearance matter point. If that was the case, that looks don't matter, why do we see all these sub-par good looking actors getting the roles? Yes, it's something we're told all the time isn't it? Also that we can do anything we want if we put our mind to it. Something, that just is not the case!

I can't remember the cancer joke to be honest, so I can't say much. But comedy is very subjective, it may of worked for other people, like Sightseers might not of worked for them. :)

I enjoyed Paul Giamatti and the fact he's not your stereotypical bad guy. He is really over-the-top, which suits the movie. I like the comparison to Elmer Fudd vs. Bugs Bunny.

What I really like about Shoot 'Em Up is that I think I share a similar temper to Smith over the ridiculous habits some people have, and the actions they choose. However, I'm too nice (a strange combination, I know) to let people know sometimes (depends far far they push it). So, for me, it's such a blast to have a laugh at Smith getting frustrated on-screen. Oh, and I'm a sucker for over-the-top action movies. :)

The finger snapping didn't bother me, but I'm not trying to sound like a toughie. What bothers me is eyes and cut Achilles tendons.*shudders*

The CGI really doesn't bother me because I have too much fun watching this action scene in the air to heavy
metal. :)

I personally think every movie in my top ten, even top 30, are better than Shoot 'Em Up. However, for the experience, and the big smile it puts on my face, it has to be high on my list. :)

Thanks for your honesty, I greatly appreciate it. :)

I finally watched A Trip to the Moon! I really enjoyed it Matt. So well done considering it's age. I loved how they thought a rocket would work. :)

Yeah, bloody work, eh? It's pretty shitty at the moment, they're forcing us to change our working hours. But, I'm keeping my mind on my two week long road trips instead. :)

I want to see Come and See (which I found on Dailymotion), Mud, Monkey Grip, and Cat City. :)

It took me longer than I said, but I finally watched Come and See! Man, what a bleak war film! Really enjoyed it. I gave it a 5/5 on Letterboxd. :)

I can't remember if I left a comment on your page or not. Anyway my crappy computer won't even load your page! I'm pleased you enjoyed Come and See, it's a bit of an unknown gem in my opinion.
