Horror Enthusiast. I'm not limited, just specialized.

A lot of people on this site make me feel like a moving-watching lightweight with my mere 800+ films, sheesh! But I can only rank things I remember enough about to compare to other things. A lot of the top movies will require a second viewing from me to do so. I'll get to them eventually!

Hey, check out The Grapes of Death and Sexy Killer if you haven't seen them. They're both offbeat zombie flicks.

Thanks, will do! Hard to beat a title like The Grapes of Death, and the poster is giving me a nice Let's Scare Jessica vibe.

I've been meaning to rewatch Let's Scare Jessica to Death. I guess Grapes of Death is kind of moody like that, and kind of on the arty side. You might want to also check out Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural. I'm rewatching it right now. It's another atmospheric type of film.

Your top ten, and probably more, has many movies I need to check out. I like your unique taste compared to many (including me) that have similar movies as favourites.

Aww, thanks! I really love them. Everyone should check out SPIDER BABY, it's charming and easy to love. On the other hand, as a warning, no one but me likes Dance of the Dead. Also, nothing wrong with having similar taste - just means you know what you like. When left to my own devices I actually watch horror movies almost exclusively (hopefully that doesn't make you think less of me. :P).

No way! Love horror movies. I see that you saw A Serbian Film. I plan to never see it, but I would like to know, is it as gruesome as they say?

Oh, also I have heard good things about Spider Baby before. It's on my very long watch list and plan to get to it eventually along with A Bucket of Blood.

Ha! I keep thinking of things I want to ask! I see that you recently seen Excision. I also recently saw it and would like to know your opinion please.

Yes, honestly. Yes it is. But it's so well-made, thought-provoking, and actually interesting both visually and narratively that I really came to like it nonetheless. Not for the squeamish or sensitive, but a much more worthy investment of time than many other "most depraved film of all time" contenders like Cannibal Holocaust (as far as I've seen).

Thanks for that, what about your thoughts on Excision? Have you seen Kill List? That might be something you like.

Aww, you're super sweet. :) As far as Excision goes, while I was impressed with AnnaLyne McCord and Traci Lords' acting, and I LOVED the gorgeous bloody dream sequences, I felt the story dragged a bit and the ending was just bewildering and sad.

I know what you mean about the ending, pretty intense. That's when her cheese fell completely off her cracker. :) She was awesome though. I agree with you on the bloody dream sequences, I haven't seen anything like that before, deserves points just for that.

I haven't watched Kill List yet, but I do intend to. My interest is renewed from seeing it on the Flickchart End of Year Best Of's and your recommendation. It just doesn't look like a horror movie at first glance, you know? I cannot explain the arcane whims that govern what I do or do not watch and when, ha.

I think you might like how Kill List evolves, that's all I will say, I don't want to spoil it.

Nice Top 10! I see you have a lot of movies in that type of genre. Interesting.

Thanks! Yes. Clearly there needs to be more bloody horror musicals, dark fairy tales, and heart-warming family movies about cannibalism, gothic mayhem, and unconditional love.

I just read your The Amityville Horror vs. The Changeling. I 100% agree with you. I don't know why it's not a more recognized movie! I took a chance on it without knowing anything and was completely rewarded.

Thanks! That's really good to hear. I totally agree, it should get more attention. Another old fashioned haunted house movie in that vein I really like is The Innocents.

I watched The Innocents Keelee. I really enjoyed it! Sometimes I don't like slow burn movies, but I really did for this film. Man, that girl screaming, I turned the volume up at the wrong time, nearly blew my eardrums out! Thanks for the recommendation!
